Frequently Asked Questions

What people ask us

Companies that manufacture or import 1 tonne or more of a substance per year in Turkey (on its own or in a mixture) are subject to KKDİK registration. Foreign manufacturers can delegate this obligation by appointing an Only Representative established in Turkey.
Registration is tiered by tonnage and hazard: 31 December 2026 for substances of 1,000 t/year and above and high-hazard substances; 2028 for 100–1,000 t/year; 2030 for 1–100 t/year. For interim registration, the deadlines are 31 March 2026 for lead registrants and 30 September 2026 for member and individual registrants. You can check your own situation with our calculator.
SDSs may only be issued by preparers certified under the relevant regulation. The documents must follow the 16-section format set out in Annex 2, reflect current CLP classifications, and meet the Turkish-language requirement.
The SEA Regulation (on the Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures) is Turkey's adaptation of the EU CLP Regulation. Hazard classes and labelling elements are largely aligned, but notification authorities and some transition periods differ; companies placing products on the Turkish market must separately ensure SEA compliance.
Substances on the SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) candidate list trigger additional obligations such as supply-chain communication, notification of presence in articles, and potential future authorization requirements. Contact our experts for a quick check.
